  1. Timing:

    • Perform the Arghya ritual early in the morning, preferably at sunrise.
  2. Preparation:

    • Take a bath and wear clean clothes.
    • Fill a clean copper, brass, or steel vessel with fresh water. You may add red sandalwood, red flowers, rice grains, or a few drops of milk if desired.
  3. Facing the Sun:

    • Stand facing the rising sun in an open area, ideally outdoors or where sunlight is visible.
  4. Offering:

    • Hold the vessel with both hands at chest level.
    • Raise it slightly above your head and gently pour the water out in a thin stream, allowing the sunlight to pass through the falling water.
  5. Mantra:

    • While offering, recite the Surya mantra (such as “Om Suryaya Namaha”) or express gratitude and prayers silently.
  6. Intent:

    • Offer with devotion, seeking blessings for health, vitality, and success.
  7. Completion:

    • Bow respectfully to the sun and complete the ritual with a moment of silence or prayer.
